Hi, I'm Lyndsey!
Since I was little, I have always wanted to be an author. Like a lot of children with big dreams, I assumed it was something meant for other people. Still, I spent hours writing short stories and imagining what it would feel like to be published. I even sent one to a magazine and received a kind reply explaining that they only published established writers. At the time, this felt like the end of the road, and I stopped writing.
Life moved on. I finished school, went to college and university, and built a career in recruitment. In 2010, I started my own recruitment business, just as platforms like LinkedIn were beginning to grow. I was an early adopter, and through sharing content, I rediscovered my love of writing, albeit in a different form.
For a while, that was enough. Then I discovered personal development and business books, and everything changed. I had always been a prolific reader, moving easily between genres such as romance, cosy crime, and thrillers, but I had never explored business or personal development. Suddenly, I had access to the thinking, strategies and lived experience of experts from around the world. It was both empowering and eye-opening.
What fascinated me most was not just the information, but the connection. A well-written business book did more than teach. It introduced me to the author’s way of thinking and built an immediate sense of trust. I found myself wanting to go further with them. I visited their websites, downloaded their resources, joined their programmes and, in many cases, went on to work with them on a deeper level. I never questioned their expertise. They had quite literally written the book on it.
At that point, the idea of writing my own book resurfaced, but so did the belief that it was out of reach. I assumed these authors had decades of experience and traditional publishing deals. I was wrong. As I looked more closely, I began to realise that many of the books I was reading had been self-published. These authors had not waited for permission. They had decided to write a book and had made it happen themselves. That realisation changed everything.
I also noticed something else. These books were not standalone pieces of work. They were part of a wider journey. The authors included additional resources, communities and next steps that felt natural and aligned. Nothing felt forced or overly sales driven. Instead, the book created trust, and the next step felt like a continuation of that relationship. That was the moment I understood the true power of a business book.
Around the same time, my own business began to evolve. I moved from recruitment into sales and marketing coaching, drawing on my experience to help others grow their businesses. I also trained as a Positive Psychology Coach, supporting clients with visibility, identity, and leadership.
Then everything seemed to align. I was invited to be the lead author in a collaborative book project. This was a real turning point for me. It gave me first-hand experience of the publishing process and showed me what was possible. The project was a success, and I went on to work on further books with the same publisher. Shortly afterwards, I was presented with an opportunity to buy a bookshop in my local village. Although I chose not to go ahead, it confirmed something important. Books were going to be a central part of my future. That realisation led to the creation of The Easiest Choice Publishing.
This business brings together everything I love: writing, coaching, training, editing, and publishing. It also allows me to use my background in sales and marketing to help my clients do more than just write a book. I help them create a book that becomes a genuine asset, one that builds authority, strengthens their message, and supports the growth of their business.
I am so excited to take you on this journey and for you to experience what it feels like to hold your own book in your hands – There truly is no greater feeling!
